This is a full time, permanent position.

Our client, a respected and successful waste management company, require a Credit Controller who would be predominantly involved in all aspects of credit control, supporting a team of 5 people on the sales ledger side and reporting to the Finance Manager.  This position would ideally suit either a junior person who is keen to develop a role in credit control or a more senior credit controller.

Key Responsibilities would be:

  • Liaising with customers and chasing outstanding debt
  • Learning Sage accounting computer software package
  • Filing and document management
  • Undertaking small projects
  • Setting up new contracts
  • Answering phones in a professional/helpful manner as well as handling and following up any queries/enquiries, advising the customer/supplier of the status of the query
  • Dealing with various ad-hoc tasks as deemed necessary

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  •  Computer literacy (Microsoft Office packages, e-mail) 
  • Ability to manage own workload effectively and efficiently 
  • Able to communicate effectively in writing on a one-to-one basis and by phone with a range of people, including management & customers
  • Organised, able to plan and prioritise tasks 
  • Able to problem solve to a good standard, knowing when to refer to the manager
  • Ability to keep to strict deadlines
  • Ability to negotiate to preserve and further the interests of the business
