Part Qualified Accountant – 1 year Maternity contract
Contract Full Time Hybrid Part TimeOur client, a local construction company based in High Wycombe is seeking a part qualified accountant to join them on a contract basis for 1 year. My client is very flexible and will consider part time or full time candidates.
Once trained, this role will turn into a hybrid role
- Assisting in accounts preparation up to trial balance,
- Full understanding of chart of accounts and double entries,
- Competent with running all ledgers (accounts payable, accounts receivable, subcontractor ledger and nominal ledger),
- Treasury duties including back reconciliation, payroll, CIS scheme (advantage), VAT and CIS return, also supervising junior staff,
- Answering internal and external queries by telephone and email, invoice queries as well as other accounting duties.
Essential
· Experience of maintaining accounting ledgers and running accounts to trial balance level
· Preparing end of month accounts
· Assisting with or the production of management accounts
· Processing of bank payments and receipts via online banking systems
· IT software skills, particularly Word and Excel
· Well organised, efficient and accurate
· Able to maintain confidentiality and deal with sensitive information
· Articulate with good verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to manage a varied workload against deadlines and agreed timetables
· Ability to maintain controls within the organisation to ensure financial probity
· Ability to work independently across multiple physical sites with minimal time management
· Ability to gather information and summarise to present to varying audiences
· Dependable and reliable, able to keep calm and productive under pressure
Desirable but not essential
– AAT part qualified (desirable) or any other such as ACCA, CIMA
– Experience of CRM/databases
– Financial administration
– Office systems development
– Experience of the Red Sky Accounting Package would be hugely advantageous
– If previously worked in the construction industry would be advantageous
