Our client, a leading FX broker are seeking a full time Scrum master. Primary the role will be to coach and support multiple scrum teams to become highly performant and self-organised – delivering best-value business features to our customers.

This role can be fully remote but you will be required to attend the office in Canary Wharf occasionally.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives)
  • Work closely with the product owners and internal stakeholders to ensure all dependencies are understood, and obstacles are removed, so teams are high performing and working without limitation
  • Work closely with the product owners in defining and understanding PBIs, PBI readiness, acceptance criteria, etc…ensuring it is fully understood going into planning; facilitate the refinement & prioritisation of the backlog with key stakeholders & competing items.
  • Removing impediments to the team’s progress to its sprint commitments
  • Coach scrum teams to deliver on commitments, increase communication, move towards self-organisation team
  • Prepare and lead iteration and project communication including sprint reporting.
  • Keep track of delivery pacing through on-going product release planning, ensuring the team is delivering on committed sprint work at a consistent and sustainable pace
  • Encourage team autonomy, aware when you’ll need to step in and when you’ll need to step back
  • Work closely with production support team to oversee any bug fixes that require immediate attention, or to be worked into backlog

What we are looking for:

  • 2 years work experience as a scrum master in an Agile delivery environment, with high-productive teams delivering complex applications (preferably within a financial services business)
  • Experience transitioning and coaching agile teams from previous methodologies to deliver results and continuously improve
  • Master of people dynamics and empowering teams to do their best work in a culture of trust, openness, respect and commitment
  • First-rate communication skills: You are an active listener, speak with clarity and can facilitate with ease; re-focus a group on commonalities and shared business goals; facilitate productive and open discussions in the face of potential opposing views; ensure action items are clearly identified, accounted for, and actioned upon
  • Demonstrate experience in stakeholder relationship management
  • Well versed in working with Atlassian Jira (2 years minimum) for scrum management
  • Scrum Certification is not necessary but will be considered as a plus.
