Our client, established for over 25 years, is looking to recruit an Account/Business Development Manager to work in a target-driven, customer focussed, commission-based, environment.  Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for maintaining a pipeline of prospective sales, managing and co-ordinating outbound and inbound sales calls.

You will be expected to focus on driving new business (60%), along with maintaining and building on existing customers (40%),

Duties of the role will include:

  • Ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service at all times, throughout the sales process, working with key colleagues to achieve a seamless delivery to the customer
  • Achieving personal sales targets in line with business plan
  • Tracking sales goals and reporting results as required
  • Developing accurate, profitable sales quotations and proposals
  • Managing inbound and outbound sales calls in a timely, effective and professional manner
  • Attending site and customer visits as required
  • Input and management of customers with the CRM
  • Promoting the organisation and products and identification of opportunities
  • Complying with all GDPR confidentiality and data security requirements and reporting any potential issues or breaches to the MD
  • Being responsible for your own Health and Safety and reporting any potential issues to management
  • Any other reasonable tasks as requested
Special Requirements / Additional Information: 
  • Minimum 2 years account management/business development experience (with a proven track record in this role), with industry experience a bonus
  • Degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience (2 years sales experience)
  • Possessing a deep understanding of customer needs and how they relate to the products
  • Must be extremely driven and determined with a structured approach (essential)
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a successful team
  • Confidence with customers and colleagues alike
  • Ability to use own initiative with a “can do” approach to problem solving
  • Excellent communication skills and inter-personal skills with an exceptional telephone manner
  • Good time management/multi-tasking /organisational/planning/decision making skills
  • Ability to multi task whilst remaining calm under pressure
  • Excellent IT skills with experience of MS Office and CRM Systems
  • Experience in customer relationship management
  • Dedication to providing excellent customer service and building strong relationships
  • Ability to focus and deliver within a target driven sales environment
  • A self-starter with drive and passion for managing existing accounts whilst also looking for new opportunities
