Specifications: 

Our client, based near Marlow, is looking to recruit an experienced Legal Secretary to work in their busy Commercial Property Department.   This very demanding and responsible role will involve a variety of challenging and interesting tasks, as well as ensuring the department is run smoothly.  You must be able to communicate with colleagues at all levels as well as having a high degree of self-management and initiative.

Key Duties:

  • Providing full generic secretarial support, including the preparation of correspondence and documents through fast and accurate audio-typing and word processing
  • Handling of confidential documents, memos etc., ensuring confidentiality at all times
  • Completion of legal forms
  • Liaising and dealing with clients, both in person and on the telephone, as well as other solicitors when required
  • Ensuring all telephone calls are answered promptly and messages passed on immediately
  • Amending transactional documentation, to include track changes
  • Dealing with post completion matters, i.e. submitting SDLT Return and dealing with Land Registry application
  • Assisting the fee earner/firm generally
  • Invoicing
  • Filing/scanning/photocopying
  • Arranging meetings
  • Entering of time sheets and data entry
  • All other administration as required 
  • Any other duties as required
Special Requirements / Additional Information: 
  • At least 1 years’ experience with another well-established firm of solicitors
  • Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills
  • Excellent ability and experience with MS office suite
  • Fast and accurate audio typing skills
  • Experience working on tracked documents
  • Well-mannered, smart and professional in appearance
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Confident with clients and other employees/solicitors
  • Reliable and proactive in approach, with a willingness to help
