This is a full time, permanent position.

Due to rapid growth our client, who develops a specific technology in their industry, is seeking an Office Based Technical Support to join their team based in High Wycombe.  This role would include 1st Line Technical Support and assisting with the company system programming for production purposes.

The individual will have a basic knowledge of technical queries and great communication skills to interact with clients to establish what the problem is.

Duties will include:

  • Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
  • Talking staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues
  • Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
  • Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
  • Supporting the roll-out of new applications
  • Setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issue
  • Responding within agreed time limits to call-outs
  • Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
  • Prioritising and managing many open cases at one time
  • Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, such as software developers
  • Conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment
Special Requirements: 
  • Coming from a 1st  Line Support role
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on their own and in a team
  • Working knowledge of PC’s & platforms
  • Ability to understand connected hardware
  • Good knowledge of networking, electronics and wiring
  • Excellent listening and questioning skills, combined with the ability to interact confidently with clients to establish what the problem is and explain the solution
  • Problem solving skills and good attention to detail
  • The ability to prioritise your workload
  • Basic electronics and wiring
