This is a full time, permanent position.

Our client, a hardware store based near High Wycombe, is seeking a confident and assertive Product Costing Controller with strong communication skills. The primary responsibility will be to control input costs, negotiate cost savings and management of product data sets for the company division through controlled processes.

Key Duties:

  • Facilitating end to end product sourcing for new quotations
  • Management of cost saving initiatives to present lower cost alternatives
  • Analysing product cost changes and their impact on the business
  • Escalating to the business any risks associated with supplying the customer in line with their expectations
  • Regular liaising with Far East and UK suppliers regarding the aspects of product sampling, costs and commercial terms
  • Management of current and new product data sets on internal system
  • Working to resolve and find long term solutions to invoice queries
  • Organising, taking part and providing input into supplier meetings, including preparation of supplier reporting
  • Preparing and populating departmental and business Key Performance Indicators
Special Requirements: 
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a purchasing/supply chain role
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a strong work ethic
  • Good level of Excel skills (Intermediate minimum), and a good level of experience working on company systems
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate well with others of all levels, both internally and externally
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Must be organised with the ability to multi task and prioritise
  • Deadline driven and a completer/finisher
