Our client, established for over 25 years, is looking to recruit a Sales & Account Manager to work in a target-driven, commission-based, environment.  Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for maintaining a pipeline of prospective sales, dealing with outbound and inbound sales calls.

Our client will consider both an entry level in to sales or someone with previous sales experience, however you must be exceptionally driven and determined (essential).

Duties of the role will include:

  • Agreeing (with Sales Engineer Team Lead and MD) an annual Sales Plan of how you intend to hit target, to be submitted and agreed by date each year
  • Achieving yearly/quarterly/monthly sales targets (set by the MD and Sales Engineer Team Lead), as well as achieving greater than a 10% conversion rate on quotations each month
  • Closing quotations older than 60 days/reissuing updated quotations if required by the customer, plus following up on quotations by email/phone within 2 weeks, managing the order to point of invoice
  • Forecasting the potentials, prospects, confirmed and orders
  • Reporting sales data to the Sales Engineer Team Lead and Directors
  • Recognising/acting on the margin potential of each customer and different products
  • Requesting price amendments to the website (with MD approval)
  • Handling enquiries allocated from the Web, or via live-chat, qualifying them before taking action
  • Handling inbound sales calls, either – directing customers to relevant webpage to place an online order / taking orders and manual payments over the phone if authorised to do so / sending quotations to customers by email / sending proposals for projects to customer by email
  • Quoting projects, taking into account lead times on supplies and engineer’s availability
  • Maintaining communication with regular/repeat customers, managing their orders
  • Following up proposals by email/phone within 2 weeks, co-ordinating the next steps, including a possible site visit, ensuring they have a budget/authority in place
  • Co-ordinating with the Project Manager or sub-contractors to arrange engineers to attend site visits
  • Taking responsibility/appropriate action for the control of costs
  • Negotiating terms with customers (with MD or FD approval)
  • Processing customer sales orders accurately so that the Administrator and Project Manager can fulfil the orders
  •  Attending exhibitions to present the company
  • Undertaking digital marketing or social media activities (as requested by the MD)
  • Complying with all GDPR confidentiality and data security requirements, plus taking responsibility for your own Health & Safety, reporting any potential issues or breaches to the MD
  • Web Order Responsibilities – logging orders on to web order spreadsheet / confirming web orders against SAGE or Paypal, verifying they are legitimate orders / processing orders / updating customers with lead times / rejecting potential non-legitimate orders and requesting customers pay by BACS, processing if BACS payment received
  • Attending arranged internal sales meetings
  • Providing cover for other sales engineers with regards to absence
  • Keeping the CRM system up to date as well as other general ad hoc duties as and when required
