Our highly successful client, established for over 50 years and based in Greenford, is looking for an energetic and organised Site Services Manager to work as part of the management team.  You will be in charge of the physical site fabric and infrastructure, enabling all departments to operate efficiently, including site buildings and yard upkeep and improvement, facilities management, security, IT support and Health & Safety.  Working together with, and as a key member of, the Management Team, you will be reporting directly to the Managing Director with regular weekly meetings.

Key Duties:


  • SERVICES & INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT: Managing contracts and associated work, maintaining the vital services and infrastructure for the operation of the company with the aim of best value for high quality.  Including among others, utility contracts, including electricity plus rate reviews / facilities maintenance (e.g. lighting, heating, racking, air-conditioning, evaporative cooling) / service contracts (including forklifts, compressors, waste disposal and pest control) / CCTV and alarms / staff refreshments, kitchens and canteen services


  • SITE FABRIC MANAGEMENT: Ensuring the integrity of the building, looking for efficiency and other improvements in running the physical site, plus ensuring the safety of all staff whilst on site.  Including among others, general site condition (offices, toilets, stairwells, warehouse, mezzanines) / building perimeter and access condition (fire doors, shutter doors, silos, roofing and guttering etc.) / external condition (yard, car parks, signage) / site security (keys, alarms, gates, end of day and weekend site closure processes, attending site and managing a rota for out of normal hours emergencies or contractors


  • HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY: Taking primary responsibility for all Health & Safety matters within the company, including risk assessments and reporting to the Management Team.  Duties to include improvement project, chairing health and safety meetings and consultations, as well as managing fire and safety equipment and being first port of call for emergency issues


  • IT SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITY: Taking the lead role in ensuring day-to-day operational reliability of IT software and hardware, including responsibility for the server room, PCs, networks, back-ups and the phone system.  This will involve co-ordination of relevant sub-contractors


  • SITE IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS: In partnership with the Directors, agreeing and being responsible for implementing a rolling annual plan of both renewal and refurbishment, as well as specific site development projects, which could be physical building projects, energy saving initiatives or process improvements such as BRC implementation


  • ESTATE SHARED SERVICES: Responsibility for maintaining the road, lighting and other common areas of the estate access road and managing an annual maintenance programme, as well as dealing with any specific estate issues that aris


Special Requirements / Additional Information: 
  • Being comfortable with taking responsibility on a large busy site, getting personally involved with making constant improvements and running a “tight ship”
  • Good proactive management skills (a detailed planner and adept at identifying issues, creating efficient solutions as well meeting any challenges that arise)
  • Practical-minded and comfortable discussing and arranging the work of electricians, plumbers and builders, as well as reviewing and negotiating contracts for site services, such as cleaning, alarms and insurances
  • Positive energy and a desire to make continuous improvements, with the ability and focus on work, having the greatest cost-benefit effect for daily operations, staff welfare and long term company success
  • Adept at working together with other managers whilst experiencing a high level of autonomy and self-responsibility in your own role
